LOA and we are going Public again

Well hello there... as of today this blog is public again.  We had to go private for a while thanks to some unwanted attention from people who are nothing more than stalkers who can't mind their own damn business, and because we were waiting for LOA (Letter of Acceptance) from the Chinese government allowing us to adopt Jack... Well guess what...

We got LOA!!!!

Tuesday while I was driving into work, my phone rung and it was our awesome and amazing case worker.  She told me we could finally send Jack a care package and that she was emailing me the LOA for signature so we can submit our I800 to USICS.

Well then my phone rang again about an hour later... after looking more carefully at the LOA it was discovered that China had put the wrong birthday for Jack on the LOA, so WACAP had to request a new one so we don't get flagged by the US government.

But either way it really doesn't matter.  We got LOA and we are good to go.  Our paperwork will be sent to USCIS on Monday (giving China a few days to get their shit together), and then once we have the new LOA we will email it to our really nice USCIS officer and she will approve us.  We are 10 weeks from TA (travel approval).  Our hope to travel October 3rd is looking to be solid.  I really can't wait.

The care package has been sent.  It had a photo album, three letters (one from each of us) and a set of dog tags with his Chinese and American name on them (Isaac's idea)!  I plan to send him a letter every 10 days or so.  My mom and sisters will each write him one welcoming him to the family.  To be honest there is a very good chance he won't see any of them until we pick him up, his CWI is known for not giving letters to the kids to read, but I am hopeful some miracle will happen and he will get them.  It will make his transition so much easier!

Well that's all for now... we should have I800 approval by the end of the month.  Then we are off to the NVC (National Visa Center) which I have been told is the most UN-organized government agency there is, if you can believe it.  So we will be using our Senator to help move things along...
