11 is my favorite number. It always has been. I'm not sure why it just makes me happy when I think about it. Today my wee little African is 11 years old. He woke up this morning looking so much bigger than he did yesterday.
In the last year he finished the 2nd grade
left the country on his own to visit a dear friend, saw Bieber in concert
had yet another surgery,
recovered

became a boy scout
and made us laugh on a daily basis.
He's 11 years old. To top it off he is battling a bad case of strep throat. Poor kid is more drugged up than anyone should be on their big day. And yet despite it all he is so happy to be 11. This will be his last year as an only child. This time next year our paperwork will be in the hands of the Chinese to decided if we are fit to raise one of their own. Isaac will be a big brother, a mentor, and a friend... I can't think of anyone better to do the job!
Happy Birthday my dear sweet boy!!!

Hooray!!!!! Love reading about your journey. The adoption journey is so amazing, and adds so much to our lives, as challenging as it can be - but overall, it is the love that keeps us really hanging in there! Love that is there no matter what!
